Bakri Eid Holiday in Gujarat 2026

Bakri Eid Holiday in Gujarat 2026: The Gujarat government has officially revised the public holiday date for Bakri Eid (Eid-ul-Adha) in 2026. Earlier, the holiday was scheduled for Wednesday, May 27, 2026, but as per the latest update, it will now be observed on Thursday, May 28, 2026.

Government Offices and Banks to Remain Open on May 27

With the revised notification now in effect, all state government offices, boards, corporations, panchayat offices, and banks across Gujarat will continue regular operations on May 27. Citizens visiting government offices or banks on Wednesday will be able to access services as usual.

The change has been announced through an updated notification issued by the General Administration Department in Gandhinagar. The revision comes after reconsideration of the festival observance date associated with Bakri Eid celebrations.

Important Update for Employees and Citizens

The updated holiday schedule is expected to help government employees, banking staff, and the general public plan their work and travel accordingly. People who had earlier planned leave or appointments based on the previous holiday date may now need to adjust their schedules.

Earlier Holiday Calendar Released in 2025

It is worth noting that the Gujarat government had initially published the official public holiday calendar for 2026 in November 2025. The latest announcement modifies the previously declared Bakri Eid holiday date for the state.
