Gujarat Rain Alert: IMD Issues Thunderstorm Warning for Ahmedabad, Surat and Several Districts

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a fresh Gujarat Rain Alert predicting thunderstorms, lightning, and moderate rainfall across several districts of the state over the next three days. The weather department has also warned of gusty winds reaching speeds of 50 to 60 kmph in parts of North Gujarat and Central Gujarat.

Gujarat Rain Alert: According to the latest IMD bulletin, heavy rainfall was recorded in isolated areas of Ahmedabad and Surat during the past 24 hours, while rainfall activity remained vigorous across Gujarat region. Most areas of North Gujarat and many places in South Gujarat received rain, bringing temporary relief from rising temperatures.

DAY-1 (Valid from time of origin to 0830 Hrs. IST of 03/06/2026)

Thunderstorm warning: Moderate thunderstorms/lighting with maximum surface wind speed 50 to 60 kmph (in gust) accompanied with light to moderate rain very likely at isolated places at isolated places in districts of Gujarat region namely Banaskantha, Patan, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Gandhinagar, Aravalli, Ahmedabad; at isolated places in the districts of Saurashtra-Kutch namely Surendranagar, Rajkot, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Morbi, Botad and Kutch.

IMD Advisory During Gujarat Rain Alert

Gujarat Rain Alert: The weather department has advised residents to remain alert during thunderstorms and avoid standing under trees or near weak structures. Waterlogging, traffic congestion, and temporary disruptions in low-lying areas are likely in case of heavy rainfall and strong winds.
